Recently I started a TV show called It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, it follows the lives of 4 friends who own an Irish Pub called Paddy's in Philadelphia as they go through relationships and work and usually end up worsening situations and trying to get out of them in the worst way possible. So far it's one of the funniest TV shows I've ever watched and I was intrigued by how the three main characters also appear as the executive producers and writers.

After further research, I found out that one of the three main actors, Rob, came up with the idea of It's Always Sunny, got his two other friends together, Glenn and Charlie, and filmed the pilot in Charlie's apartment on a cheap camcorder for under $85. When I watched the original pilot I realised that these men were basically doing the same as our group. After shooting the pilot on such a low budget they went around many channel executives and got laughed at by most, but not FX who took the show on with the promise that Rob, Charlie and Glenn would stay as the cast, the executive producers and main writers. With its 14 seasons, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will be tied with The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet for the longest- running live-action comedy series in TV history.
It remains such an inspiration to me as it shows that all you need it an idea, a couple of friends and a camera.
