YOUTH: Symbolism

Symbolism in our film is most apparent when looking at Dawn with the tea cup and milk. We decided to add this in to give Dawn a more ominous appearance and hint towards the youth theme in our film. From the moment we are born to old age milk is our number one source for health and youth.

White room is to highlight how Dawn is just another number of elderly victims, we didn't make it homily so the audience wouldn't feel attached and realise that Dawn was just another forgotten victim.

The colour for Dawn's costume was chosen as purple as it represents wisdom and dignity, something that is forgotten in most elderly people as the older they become more childlike they are treated.

Mick and Steve's costume colouring, especially black,is to represent how they essentially "killed" Dawn and the grey to highlight how they're literally in the grey zone, are they murderers or innocent victims caught in a governments plan?

The emphasis on the window through out our film and Dawn's position of staring out in the beginning  expresses how Dawn was looking out at her past life as a window can be seen as the portal to transformation, the window represents a view of freedom and life that Dawn cannot have.
